Fear is a powerful emotion that resides in different areas of the body. Fear impacts our physical and mental health and quality of life. If you believe that everything is energy, then consider that your fear produces heavy energy. This energy impacts your life in a variety of ways, and it’s essential to address it before it transforms into physical issues. There are four types of fears connected to the chakras:

Fears connected to the chakras: Fear about the sense of safety, often irrational

This type of fear resides in the root chakra, located at the base of the spine. Since this chakra is connected with our sense of safety and security, this type of fear makes us feel constantly unsafe, even when there’s nothing to worry about. This fear is often irrational, e.g., the fear of a deadly accident happening to us or our family or the fear of being robbed. This fear may be conscious or unconscious and creates a sense of danger that is hard to shake off. In the case of women transitioning to motherhood, a typical example is obsessive thoughts about the death of the baby (I’ve been there).

Fears connected to the chakras: Fear about emotional wounds of the past

This type of fear resides in the sacral chakra, located in the belly. Since this chakra is connected with our emotions and power dynamics in relationships, this type of fear comes from the traumas we’ve been through, especially during childhood. These may be related to assault, neglect, and similar things. This fear is about events that occurred in the past, but the feelings and emotions connected with it stay with us. In the case of women transitioning to motherhood, this fear may come from a negative relationship with their mom.

Fears connected to the chakras: Fear of judgment and control

This fear resides in the solar plexus chakra, located in the stomach. Since this chakra is connected with our sense of ego and sense of identity, this type of fear is about what makes our ego feel insecure, like when we can’t control things or people and when other people judge us. This fear may also be caused by traumatic experiences, but it’s also a very common fear that can come and go at different points in life. In the case of women transitioning to motherhood, this fear is present when you feel you can’t control the process or when you’re scared of the judgment of other moms.

Fears connected to the chakras: Fear of rejection and lack of love for yourself

This fear resides in the heart chakra, located in the heart and lungs. Since this chakra is connected with love and self-love, this type of fear is about rejection and the feeling that you don’t deserve to be loved. This fear may also be caused by traumatic experiences, especially during childhood, or abusive romantic relationships. In the case of transitioning to motherhood, this fear is present when you feel that you’re not going to be a good mom (I’ve been there). When you think that, you stop loving yourself and can’t love your child either.

The chakra system allows you to deeply connect with the part of your body affected by the heavy energy of fear, and from there, you can go ahead and address this fear using a variety of spiritual practices, like meditation and journaling, and take concrete steps to let go of this fear in your daily life.

If you want to learn more, check out the video in this other blog post (recorded for a mom summit I joined in the past), where I dig deeper into the chakras most affected in the motherhood journey. I share the story of my transition to motherhood, how trauma affects the chakras, and reveal why moms need to reclaim their feminine energy and practices to do that.
